Roswell

Our Story

We believe EVERYONE Deserves a Forever Home.

Odd Man Inn was started because of our commitment to a dog named Roswell. Fear-based aggression and a tendency to bite made him extremely difficult to manage. When we ran out of training options, the professional recommendation was euthanasia. Instead of giving up on him, we purchased land for Roswell to get out of city life in Portland and created a safe space for him and other animals who are out of options.

Roswell lives here happily with a variety of other animals who are considered misfits in society. Our residents are often called too bitey, too dirty, too plump, too ugly, too inconvenient, too old, too big, too whatever. We make every effort to rehabilitate animals based on their specific needs and help them become ambassadors for their kind. We find adoptive families whenever possible to free up space for the next ones who are out of options.

Our first adoption was in 2017, and we have successfully been able to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome hundreds of animals including pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, rats, chickens, geese, ducks, peafowl, rabbits, turtles, llamas, donkeys, pigeons, and cows.

We are proud Network Partners of Best Friends Animal Society.
