The Animal Care Crew

The Animal Care Crew is designed with the comfort of the animals in mind. We believe they are more comfortable when they have regular caregivers. The minimum commitment is 2 shifts per month and the activities are specific to caring for the residents of the refuge. For safety, we only accept volunteers 18 and older.

Work includes:

  • Basic cleaning of animal housing
  • Meal preparation
  • Changing waters
  • Grooming of animals
  • Socialization activities
  • Construction tasks as needed
  • Basic animal medical care tasks/hooves/therapy assistance

We’re always looking for extra assistance with:

  • Fundraising activities
  • Office organization/filing/clerical
  • Contractor/construction work
    • Plumbing/electrical/painting/building
  • Automotive repair

Open Volunteer Days

We occasionally host open volunteer days in the warmer months of the year. Please follow on social media for announcement of those opportunities. They are very limited in space and frequency for the comfort of the animals.

  • Commitment

The minimum requirement for joining the Animal Care Crew is to work two 4-hour shifts per month. I understand this application is for the TENNESSEE location, and I need to schedule a volunteer orientation to be considered for the Animal Care Crew.
